CANCÚN.– Luis "Tony" Rodríguez was presented as the new manager of the Quintana Roo Tigers for the 2022 Season of the Liga Mexicana de Beisbol (LMB).

Rodriguez worked as a Director of Baseball Operations for PRIBL Baseball in the past two years. He played in the MLB with the Boston Red Sox.

He has experience as a coach in the Professional Baseball Leagues of Nicaragua, Panama, and Puerto Rico. Also served as Assitant General Manager of the Cangrejeros de Santurce (Team from the Liga de Béisbol Profesional Roberto Clemente) and was part of the MLB Development Program in Puerto Rico.

He was manager of the Puerto Rico Islanders, conducting them to the first and only championship in the franchise’s history. He is a member of the University of Charleston Athletics Hall of Fame.

“We’re pleased to see every time any of our members move up,” said Carlos Nuñez, the president and founder of PRIBL Baseball. “Tony is a terrific leader and is highly respected throughout the baseball community; I am pretty sure he will be successful in Mexico.”

On March 10, Tony will be reporting to Cancun, Mexico, to begin the Spring Training.
