PRIBL Promotes Orientation Workshop with BAT for the Benefit of its Players

by PRIBL Media

AGUADILLA, PR – The Puerto Rico Independent Baseball League (PRIBL) reaffirms its commitment to the development and well-being of its players by announcing an orientation workshop in collaboration with the Baseball Assistance Team (BAT). This initiative aims to provide information and support to players regarding available resources for those who have dedicated their lives to baseball and may face challenges in their sports careers or personal lives.

Iván Reyes and Jayson Pérez, BAT consultants in Puerto Rico, will lead the workshop and share the organization’s mission and the assistance programs it offers to the baseball community.

The Baseball Assistance Team (BAT) is a nonprofit organization founded in 1986 by a group of former Major League Baseball players to provide financial and social support to baseball family members facing difficult situations. This includes retired players, coaches, umpires, and other sports professionals experiencing financial hardship, health issues, or personal challenges. Players who have spent at least two years with a Major League Baseball organization are eligible to apply for BAT programs.

Iván Reyes, BAT consultant in Puerto Rico, emphasized the importance of young players being aware of this organization and the opportunities it offers:

“Many players are unaware that, after their baseball careers, they can find support in organizations like BAT. Our mission is to help those who have dedicated their lives to the sport and, in times of need, provide them with the necessary assistance to keep moving forward.”

Meanwhile, Jayson Pérez highlighted the value of PRIBL promoting this type of workshop for its players:

“Baseball is more than just a sport; it’s a community. Young players need to understand that they are not alone and that resources exist to support them at different stages of their lives. PRIBL’s provision of this space demonstrates its commitment to the overall well-being of its players beyond the field.”

The PRIBL Winter Development League has become an essential platform for players looking to improve their performance and increase their opportunities in professional baseball. Players can access valuable information about financial assistance, scholarships, and other support programs through this initiative with BAT.

Carlos M. Núñez, president of PRIBL, underscored the importance of initiatives like this BAT workshop:

“Our commitment to players goes beyond the game. We want to ensure that every athlete who joins PRIBL has the best opportunity to develop in baseball and the information and resources necessary for their long-term well-being. This partnership with BAT is a testament to our mission of creating a real impact in our players’ lives.”

This workshop is an excellent opportunity for PRIBL players to learn about the resources available to them and how BAT programs can benefit them.

PRIBL continues to expand its impact on baseball in Puerto Rico by providing a competitive development league and strengthening the sense of community and support among players.
