Raul Gonzalez has been added to the Puerto Rico Independent Baseball League managers' list for the Inaugural season.

Gonzalez spent the last four seasons with San Diego Padres organization, where he served as a coach in different minor league levels.

"We are glad to have Raul Gonzalez in the Puerto Rico Independent Baseball League. We know that his leadership and commitment will be valuable to our organization," said PRIBL President Carlos Nuñez.

Gonzalez has more than 30 years of professional baseball experience. He was drafted by the Kansas City Royals in the 17th round of the 1990 Major League Baseball Draft and made his major league debut for the Chicago Cubs on May 25, 2000. He also played for the Cincinnati Reds, New York Mets, and Cleveland Indians.

“I will always remember this day as an extraordinary date, now will be a double memory. Managing in Puerto Rico on a professional level is an honor. This organization has an incredible development vision, and I appreciate the opportunity to work with this project. Now is my time to give something away to these players and help them to achieve their goals,” said Raul Gonzalez.

Raúl has mentored many active players in the major leagues, including Miguel Cabrera, so there is no doubt that he will be an amazing asset for the Puerto Rico Independent Baseball League.
