PASCUAL SANTIAGO IS NAMED THE NEW MANAGER OF THE CONQUISTADORES

AGUADA, PR – The Puerto Rico Independent Baseball League announces the signing of Pascual Santiago as the new Conquistadores Manager. Santiago comes in substitution of Butch Hobson, who, due to the change of itinerary and his previous commitments in the American Association, makes his participation impossible this year.

Santiago has over 10 years of coaching experience in the professional ranks. His most recent professional experience includes one season as the hitting coach and third base coach for the Normal Cornbelters of the Frontier League in 2018, where his team led the league in batting average.

“I appreciate the opportunity to manage a team in the Puerto Rico Independent Baseball League, and I thank Carlos Nuñez,” said Pascual Santiago.

In 2017 he was named the league’s Manager of the year in the Empire League in front of the Old Orchard Beach Surge team.

Santiago's previous experience includes 3 seasons with Gary Southshore RailCats in the American Association. He also spent two seasons with the Joliet Slammers and three seasons with the Windy City Thunderbolts in the Frontier League.

“I met Pascual during the 2017 season in the Empire League, and his work ethic is incredible. He is a very knowledgeable person and will provide valuable experience to our players,” said PRIBL President Carlos Nuñez.

The Puerto Rico Independent Baseball League spring training is scheduled for June 15, 2021, at the Guillermo Hernandez Stadium in Aguada, Puerto Rico. For more information about the league, stay connected to our official website at www.puertoricoproleague.com.
