Beyond the Diamond: PRIBL Launches “Sports Leaders Program”

MAYAGÜEZ, PR — The Puerto Rico Independent Baseball League (PRIBL) is redefining what it means to be a professional league. Its mission goes beyond developing elite athletes — it extends to building the very foundation of sports in Puerto Rico.

Today, PRIBL takes a historic step in that direction with the launch of the “Sports Leaders Program,” a groundbreaking internship and mentorship initiative designed to transform university students into the future leaders of the sports industry.

Puerto Rico is home to some of the brightest and most passionate young minds pursuing degrees in Sport Management, Marketing, Business Administration, and Sports Entertainment at top universities around the world. Yet, upon returning home, many face a market with limited opportunities to apply their knowledge and gain that critical first-hand experience.

That changes today.

The Sports Leaders Program is not a traditional internship. It’s an immersive leadership workshop where students don’t just observe — they build. Participants will be an active part of the teams that are laying the foundation for the league’s future, working side by side with PRIBL executives, co-owners, and strategic partners.

What Does the Sports Leaders Program Offer?

• Real Experience: Participants will take on key responsibilities in areas such as sports marketing, stadium operations, fan engagement, business development, and content production.

• Elite Mentorship: Students will receive direct guidance from established professionals in the field, including figures like Dalton Cornett and other leaders who have built successful careers in professional sports.

• A Bridge to the Future: PRIBL is committed to being an active ally in each participant’s career path. Upon completion, students will receive recommendation letters and access to the league’s professional network, which includes connections with Major League Baseball and other international professional leagues.

“We’re building a league from the ground up, and that’s a learning opportunity you won’t find in any textbook,” said Carlos Núñez, President of PRIBL. “We want Puerto Rico’s best young talents to be part of the legacy we’re creating — to make their first major professional achievement helping build the league that will change baseball in their country.”

After building the legacy of the pioneers, PRIBL now invites the new architects of sports to take the reins of the next chapter.

We are looking for dreamers, builders, and leaders — students with the ambition not only to be part of the industry but to transform it.

Más Allá del Campo: PRIBL Lanza el “Programa de Líderes Deportivos”

MAYAGÜEZ, PR — La Puerto Rico Independent Baseball League (PRIBL) está redefiniendo lo que significa ser una liga profesional. Su misión va más allá de desarrollar peloteros de élite; se extiende a construir los cimientos del deporte en Puerto Rico.

Hoy, da un paso histórico en esa dirección con el lanzamiento del “Programa de Líderes Deportivos”, una iniciativa revolucionaria de prácticas y mentoría diseñada para convertir a estudiantes universitarios en los futuros líderes de la industria deportiva.

Puerto Rico cuenta con algunos de los jóvenes más brillantes y apasionados estudiando Sport Management, Mercadeo, Administración y Entretenimiento Deportivo en las mejores universidades del mundo. Sin embargo, al regresar, muchos se enfrentan a un mercado con pocas oportunidades para aplicar su conocimiento y vivir esa primera experiencia crucial.

Eso cambia hoy.

El Programa de Líderes Deportivos no es un programa de pasantías tradicional. Es un taller de liderazgo real, donde los estudiantes no solo observan, sino que hacen. Serán parte integral de los equipos que están cimentando el futuro de la liga, trabajando mano a mano con nuestros directivos, copropietarios y socios estratégicos.

¿Qué ofrece el Programa de Líderes Deportivos?

• Experiencia Real: Los participantes tendrán responsabilidades clave en áreas como mercadeo deportivo, operaciones de estadio, relaciones con fanáticos, desarrollo de negocio y producción de contenido.

• Mentoría de Élite: Serán guiados por profesionales de la industria, incluyendo a figuras como Dalton Cornett y otros líderes que han construido carreras exitosas en el deporte profesional.

• Un Puente al Futuro: La PRIBL se compromete a ser un aliado en la carrera de cada participante. Al finalizar el programa, recibirán cartas de recomendación y acceso a la red de contactos de la liga, que incluye organizaciones de las Grandes Ligas y otras ligas profesionales internacionales.

“Estamos construyendo una liga desde cero, y eso es una oportunidad de aprendizaje que no se encuentra en ningún libro de texto,” expresó Carlos Núñez, presidente de la PRIBL. “Queremos que los mejores talentos de Puerto Rico formen parte del legado que estamos edificando. Que su primer gran logro profesional sea haber ayudado a nacer a la liga que cambiará el béisbol en su país.”

Después de construir el legado de los pioneros, ahora invitamos a los nuevos arquitectos del deporte a tomar las riendas del próximo capítulo.

Estamos buscando soñadores, constructores y líderes. Estudiantes con la ambición de no solo ser parte de la industria, sino de transformarla.
